Message so how is this going to affect overall dimensions of the journal now? Will you still be able to polish the surface as usual if I loaded it up in my crank polisher?

The effort in getting this done is good in that its something being tried but in the overall scheme of things if a crank is going to give way..its gonna go regardless of we do to it. Sunny Bryant cranks for the big boys costing 10K+ and have all the shit you can think of done to them I've seen snap like twigs. Lets hope that this procedure worth its cost. BTW Mike...what did this cost you to have done? Since you are in the market on building this engine you may want to see about getting that crank coated to dissapate heat as well. Email me if you are interested in getting that done. I assume you are keeping the low speed oil system on the crank as well?
